The Crypt Gallery
Heritage Open Day: Art exhibitions and a Medieval undercroft- this incredible gallery is not to be missed! Not only is The Crypt opening for Heritage Open Days but for Artwave, too! This event will see a heritage arts and crafts exhibition, live demonstrations, free workshops for children and young people, and access to the Medieval undercroft!
Within The Crypt Gallery is an atmospheric medieval undercroft, or vaulted chamber, believed to date to the mid 13th century and traditionally known as ‘The Crypt’. The undercroft is constructed of at least two bays and has a vaulted roof featuring early English bosses, indicating Seaford's considerable status at the time as a Cinque Port.
