Fort Brockhurst: Military Past Comes Alive!
Heritage Open Day: For the first time, Fort Brockhurst offers displays and activities from various periods of history, in this event which spans the entire past of the fort. An action-packed event with living history displays and military reenactment filling the fort with activity and atmosphere from start to finish. Have your camera ready to capture such sights as soldiers practicing their drill, Victorian ladies taking tea on the lawn, soldier encampments, horses, and cannon and muskets firing! Even some Luftwaffe pilots will be there, along with other WW1 & WW2 characters.
Children will love this event, and can join in activities. And, don’t not forget that you also have the whole fort to explore! Bring a picnic and make a day of it.
Last entry at 1500 to allow for an enjoyable experience before 1600 finish.
