From 6 to 8 September we will be opening the Bargate – the very well-known and much loved gateway into the medieval town. This is a rare opportunity to see inside. The gatehouse hasn’t been open regularly since 2012 and has recently undergone repairs inside and out.
We will be open from 10:00 – 15:00 (last entry at 14:30) and a maximum capacity of 50.
Within the Bargate you will be able to see the larger-than-life paintings of Bevois and Ascupart, which used to be hung on the outside of the building, welcoming visitors to the town, and Queen Anne’s Statue, still missing an arm.
Fri 6 Sep:10:00 – 15:00 (last entry at 14:30); Sat 7 Sep:10:00 – 15:00 (last entry at 14:30); Sun 8 Sep:10:00 – 15:00 (last entry at 14:30); Free Entry.
