Winchester Today, Winchester Yesterday - an exhibition
Heritage Open Day: The City of Winchester Trust’s archive includes photographs of Winchester from the 19th and 20th centuries. The exhibition takes some of these photos and compares them with a local photographer’s photos of the same view today. If you live or work in Winchester you become so familiar with it that you may hardly notice the changes, unless, of course, the change is dramatic. In fact, the city is constantly changing, and the City of Winchester Trust has a photographic archive to prove it!
We have selected a number of photographs from our archive, taken at different times during the 19th and 20th centuries, and then photographed the same views today.
