Heritage Open Day: The event explores the history of the Shorncliffe Garrison and its multicultural links. Visitors can view the military landscape, and see how military needs have changed over the years, and how our history is linked with that of the rest of the world Shorncliffe Garrison has been an important military base for over 200 years. Home of Light Infantry it has also been home to soldiers from around the world. This years events tells those stories. The Shorncliffe Trust will be explaining the evolvement of a military garrison over 200 years. Almost forgotten about and unmarked for over a century, the site has been interpreted and plotted by the Shorncliffe Trust's chairman Christopher Shaw.
