Radford House Open Day

Heritage Open Day: Tours of the building and outside areas at 11am and 3pm. Radford House was built in the early 18th century. Drop in throughout the day to see plans for the building and its new use as a community space for Ramsgate. Refreshments available all day. Radford House was built as a country house for the nobility and owned all the land to Elms Avenue and Guildford Lawn, which formed gardens with a fountain and summer house. As Ramsgate town grew, the lands were sold and at the end of the 19th century the building was given to the Ramsgate Corporation. It became the town's first official fire station, which remained in use, becoming the oldest fire station in England, until the fire brigade moved out in 2018.
