St. Saviour’s Church, Walmer

Heritage Open Day: A Victorian chapel of ease built 1848-49 in the Neo-Gothic architectural style, for the town's boatmen, and to help serve the growing congregation of Blessed Mary of Walmer. It is dedicated to no saint, but to the Holy Saviour.

At the front of the church is a war memorial featuring the names of many Royal Marines who had lived in the nearby barracks.

The church offers self-guided tours using information sheets provided.
