Roads, Footpaths and the Thames Navigation Through Abingdon
Heritage Open Day: We aim to show, using the Charity's archives how important the town was in relation to the Thames navigation as a trade route. How the town of Abingdon was at the centre of national routes, in addition to more informal but important footpath routes across parts of the town. Also to underline its importance as a trade route and, like the coaching routes, it was a channel for news.
