Heritage Open Day: Pendon Museum is a Museum of Outstanding Miniature Landscape and Transport. The main Vale scene depicts rural life as it was in the Vale of White Horse in the 1930s through detailed models depicting a way of life as it was a century ago. Pendon Museum has three miniature scenes depicting life and transport in rural areas in the 1930s in exquisite detail.
Renown for its detail and craftmanship, the Vale scene reproduces in miniature the beauty of the English countryside around 1930. Exquisitely modelled cottages, farms, fields and chalky lanes plied by horse-drawn transport with the occasional car and lorry , recall the quiet charm of the Vale of White Horse nearly a century ago.
