From the Garden of Eden to Paradise, a journey in stained glass
Heritage Open Day: St Mary's Church, Henley-on-Thames. Explore our beautiful stained glass and take a journey from the Garden of Eden to Paradise. There will be activities for children and self-guided tours and talks for all. St Mary's Church is situated near Henley Bridge, one of the earliest crossing points of the River Thames. Both the earliest church building and the first bridge date from the 13th century. The church has changed many times over the years and now has a wonderful display of stained glass depicting many scenes and personalities from the bible, many of them donated by and commemorating local people.
