Quaker Meeting House

Heritage Open Day: Come and visit the Quaker Meeting House at 43 St Giles’. All are welcome to join members of the Oxford Quaker Community for Meeting for Worship taking place at 9.30am and 11am on Sunday 15th September. If you haven’t been to a Quaker Meeting before, please follow the link to see what to expect: https://oxfordquakers.org/first-time/ At other opening times visitors are invited to explore the Meeting House and Gardens, enjoy a cup of tea and see aspects of everyday life in this much loved venue in St Giles. The first purpose-built Meeting House was erected in the late 1680s behind 63–4 St Giles,’ but by the mid-18th century local Quaker activity had moved to Witney. The number of Friends in Oxford dwindled, and the Meeting House was sold in the 1860s.
