He pioneered bringing students out of lecture halls and taught instead at the patient’s bedside to enhance learning and nurture experience. He also created the first-ever residential training programmes for doctors.
When not in use as a venue for workshops, meetings and garden parties, the University’s medical students
still enjoy this historic building as their clubhouse.
