About this Event
Mullins House/Coffee Shop
Heritage Open Day: You can see the shop where Mullins used to make the shoes, the original stairs to the flat above (not accessible), original fireplace and wall. Mullins House takes its name from former Dorking resident, William Mullins, a local shoemaker and Pilgrim Father, who travelled to America on the Mayflower in 1620 with his wife Alice, daughter Priscilla and son Joseph. The building dates from between 1568 and 1610 and is the only example of a Pilgrim Father’s home still in existence. You will be able to read more about William's journey to the New World printed on canvas and hangs proudly on the original wall in Mullins House.
