St Andrew's Church
Heritage Open Day: The life of St Andrew's Church - past, present and future Open mornings on Saturday 7th and 14th from 10am to 1pm will include short talks by Rev David Uffindell at 10 and 12am, on “The Life and Times of St Andrew’s Church†and tours of the tower, a wonderful opportunity for photos from the top!
The church has a long history – the chancel dates back to the 12th century with some Norman remains. The east window is nineteenth century, by A.W.N Pugin, but the surrounding original stonework is unchanged. Extensive works in the 19th century included the raising of the originally small tower to 115 ft, and work in the 2000s by architect Ptolemy Dean featured the setting up of The Pavilions at the west end of the church.
Refreshments will be available 10 - 12.
Also, on Monday 9th at 1 pm and Wednesday 11th at 6 pm there will be an open conversation about St Andrew's Church, past present and future.
Sat 7 Sep:1000 - 1300; Sat 14 Sep:1000 - 1300; Free Entry.
