Heritage Open Day: Shalford Cemetery octagonal Chapel and Mortuary, built in 1887 of traditional bargate stone to replace the already full churchyard burial ground. The graveyard contains the graves of many well known local people. This hidden gem, built in 1887 of traditional bargate stone to replace the already full churchyard burial ground, has an attractive red and black interior, timbered roof, oak pews and catafalque, and simple stained glass windows hinting at the Arts and Craft movement of the 1890's.
