Visit St Mary's Church, Shalford: a history talk
Heritage Open Day: Come along to St Mary’s at 1500 for a talk on the history of the Church. Hear about the history of St Mary's Church in Shalford, designed by architect Benjamin Ferrey, a pupil of Augustus Pugin. Dedicated in 1847, St Mary's is at least the fourth building on a site that has been sacred for around a thousand years. Our bell captain, Sally Schupke, will give the talk which will last about an hour, with refreshments available. The talk will include an opportunity to walk around the Church to hear about events behind some of the memorials, windows and brass.
