Liskeard Unlocked - Wonderous Well of Lyskiret
Heritage Open Day: Unlock the flows of time at the Well of Lyskiret. Stop by The Pipewell to share tales and trinkets for Liskeard Unlocked with the Museum volunteers on 7th and on 14th Council volunteers will tell you all about the Well's history. Come and see the Pipewell with the gates open so that you can see the lovely stonework as well as the water source. Hosts will be there to tell everyone about the building and the slate tank where the spring water is channelled.
The well is probably the main reason for the town's existence. The springs which supply it are pure and have never been known to run dry. (During the severe drought of 1976, when water rationing was enforced and standpipes were erected in the streets, Liskeard residents preferred to get their water from the Pipewell.
