Liskeard Unlocked - Westbourne House

Heritage Open Day: Westbourne House was the subject of an extensive restoration and renovation project after Wildanet took on the lease in 2021 from CC. This is a rare chance to view creation of high-tech offices while preserving architectural features. Built in 1816 for solicitor N.W. Penrose, the house was one of the grandest in town, with gardens that spanned to what is now Westbourne Car Park, with two connecting footbridges. In the latter part of the 19th century, it was owned by Richard Hawke, then the wealthiest man in Liskeard.

Visitors can expect to see the conservation work blended with modern technology, enjoy time in the garden and see a visual history of the house and occupants. There is a memorial to Richard Hawke in the garden.
