St Clements Church , Powderham

Heritage Open Day: An excellent opportunity to visit this ancient church. Consecrated in 1259, this has been the family church for the Earls of Devon & the Courtenay family since the 13th century. Musical Interludes, Talks & Cream Teas on each Open Day. Opening hours 2pm-5pm each Open Day, Sat 7th, Sun 8th, Sat14th and Sun 15th September There will be a Talk by Mark Bailey on the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission on Sat 7th Sept at 3pm Organ and Piano Music by Angus Ramsay Violin and flute by Elizabeth & Francis Lee Violin & Saxophone by Darcey Mortimer on Sat 7th Readings by Award winning actor, Paul Jesson on Sept 14th at 3pm A talk on our historic building by James Lee on Sat Sept 14th at 3pm Delicious cream teas and homemade cakes available each day This is a chance to look around this lovely old church with its long connections to the Earls of Devon as well as the English Civil War
