Museum of Policing in Devon & Cornwall Open Day
Heritage Open Day: Learn about Policemen on the beat
Can you design a beat for a turn- of- the- century Policeman?
Where would your beat go? How much ground could you cover? Where would you go and where would your conference points be? The Museum of Policing in Devon & Cornwall is a charity dedicated to bringing police heritage in the Devon and Cornwall counties to everyone. Our extensive historical archives and objects are crying out to be seen and it's with great pride that we will open this museum so close to Tavistock's historic police station and magistrates court.
Explore the history of policing in our area through our collection of objects dating from modernity to as far back at the early Victorian period including uniforms, equipment, weaponry, communications devices, and much more.
