All Saints Church
Heritage Open Day: Dating from 1868, All Saints is a Grade I listed building. A Grade I listed building, built in the style referred to as 'French Gothic Revival' by John Middleton. The building was described (and we paraphrase), as producing here, the effect that Pugin wanted to achieve and never quite managed. Fine Victorian ironwork, murals and brassware. Baptism, marriage and funeral records from 1868 on display and available to examine. One of the 300 major churches in the UK. Associations with Gustav Holst, whose father was organist here for 25 years. Tours at 3pm Wednesday-Saturday, no booking required.
