The Air Raid Shelter and Hospital Cottages of the former Cirencester Memorial Hospital , Exhibition
Heritage Open Day: The exhibition Wartime Life in the Cotswolds is housed on the site of the former Memorial Hospital. The medical and military exhibits are housed in the air raid shelter and civilian services and domestic life in the hospital cottages adjacent. The shelter was built for the patients and staff of the Memorial Hospital. The shelter section of the exhibition includes ARP equipment, British and Allied forces exhibits and others representing civil and military medical services. There are numerous artefacts connected with the many local RAF bases involved in aircraft maintenance and major operations such as D-day and
Operation Market Garden , the attempt to cross the River Rhine at Arnhem.
