Quaker Meeting House Hereford
Heritage Open Day: Discover our meeting house tucked away off King Street in Hereford and find out its interesting history. Discover our interesting building which is in a passage off King Street in Hereford, within sight of the cathedral. Even people who have lived in the area for many years are surprised that we are here!
The Quakers have used this building for 203 years. Before this it was used for flannel manufacturing which was an 18th Century scheme to help the unemployed into work. Then it became the location of the ‘Friends First-Day Adult School’. Local Quakers were involved with this. People could attend here to learn to read and write as well as join in with a variety of activities.
