Coracle Connections
Heritage Open Day: What is a Coracle, I hear you ask? A coracle is a small, rounded, lightweight boat, constructed of lengths of ash or willow and woven like a basket.
Join us to find out more, watch a coracle making demonstration and even try a free, coracle ride! Tamworth Castle, in conjunction with Cairn Crafts will be celebrating connections through coracle making. Come along and find out more about the craft of coracle making; watch how they are made, learn about the history of the coracle and find out what they were used for.
Coracle making demonstrations will be located at 'The Hub, The Old Swimming Baths', opposite the Tennis Courts, in Tamworth Castle Grounds on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September.
Sat 7 Sep:1000-1500; Sun 8 Sep:1000-1500; Free Entry.
