Church House, Alcester
Heritage Open Day: Explore one of Alcester's Grade II listed timber-framed former dwellings, refurbished to provide modern facilities of hall, meeting rooms, kitchen and toilets for St Nicholas parish Church. A local history exhibition may be on view. Once a grand medieval timber-framed dwelling house with a utility house to the rear, the front house was converted to Edwardian Meeting Hall in 1910 to form 'Church House' for use of St Nicholas Church as a Mission Room. The back section had earlier been converted to a coach house and stables for the former Rectory next door and remained functional as stables until the mid-1960s after which it became derelict.
