Alcester War Memorial Town Hall

Heritage Open Day: Grade I listed timber framed town hall. Constructed in 1618 this grade I timber framed building had its upper storey added in 1641. Hammer beam roof and ancient artefacts on show, including heraldic crest of the second Marquess of Hertford, display of Masonic regalia, and local photographic exhibition. As a war memorial this building displays the names of the fallen in both World Wars. In addition, there is a commemoration of the part Alcester played in the financing of HMS Monkshood, which was a Flower Class Corvette used in the Second World War as a convoy escort.
