Celebration of the life of Alfred Wilcox VC and the other men involved on that day.

Heritage Open Day: A celebration of the life and achievents of Alfred Wilcox VC with his colleagues who lost their lives on the 12 September 1918. There will be a short ceremony to celebrate the life and achievements the men involved of Alfred Wilcox VC an Aston man who is buried in the churchyard. The ceremony will give equal prominence to the men involved that day who died in France. The event will be led by Colonel Marius Coulon, 8 Rifles and the Vicar of Aston & Nechells. The Rifles are the successors of Alfred’s own regiment the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (43rd & 52nd). There will be a display in the church about Alfred and his brothers who all served in WW1 Car Parking is available in front of the church will access from Aston Hall Road. Light refreshments available from 12 noon in Aston Parish Church.
