The Historic Church of St Edmund
Heritage Open Day: The church of St Edmund, King and Martyr stands on a site dating back over 1,000 years. Partly destroyed during the Civil War, it was rebuilt in 1724. The church stands at the lower end of Dudley town centre, just below the market place and almost within the shadow of the Castle; in Castle Street, with several pubs and refreshment facilities for visitors.
Full free leaflets and knowledgeable guides for the tours (no booking necessary) are available throughout the hours of 1100 -1400. St Edmund's is within the Diocese of Worcester, and services are usually held on Wednesday at 1225 and Sunday at 1100.
