Heritage Open Day: Local artist Henry Challis portrayed scenes of Bearwood, Smethwick and Warley - discover the places he painted with this brand new heritage walk, explore the changes in the landscape and see his paintings on display. Henry Challis was a local painter and resident of the Warley and Smethwick areas who documented the areas changes through the creation of various paintings’ with some being held by Sandwell Museums Service.
To celebrate and promote these paintings, Sandwell Archives, in conjunction with Sandwell Museums Service, is in the process of creating ‘the Challis Walk’.
