Family Graffiti Activity
Heritage Open Day: Join us for a family friendly hands-on introduction to Historic Graffiti in Worcester Cathedral. Hunt for masons marks, images and inscriptions of those who visited before then create your own. In this workshop we will learn about the marks left by the stonemasons who built the Cathedral and search to identify images and inscriptions made by those who worshipped and visited here throughout history. There will also be the opportunity to create your very own masons mark to take home.
The Cathedral’s Historic Graffiti holds witness to the changing nature of belief, practice, and worship over the past centuries and reveals the personalities, thoughts, and fears of those who visited before you.
