Hornsea - NCI coast watch
Heritage Open Day: The National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) at Hornsea work closely with the Coast Guard, Cliff Rescue Teams, Helicopters and with the RNLI and Hornsea Inshore Rescue. The NCI station is by the Marine pub on the foreshore. Hornsea Coastwatch station opened in 2019 in response to a local need to safeguard residents and visitors against the perils that can arise along our coastline. Thirty years ago, National Coastwatch Institution, a national charity, was born! Today, there are over 60 such lookout stations around the coast. Five and a half years ago, Princess Anne, our Patron, graciously opened our station in Hornsea.
