Gathering Walk for the launch of the Saint Aelred's Pilgrim Trail
Heritage Open Day: The Launch Day Gathering Walk for the Saint Aelred’s Pilgrim Trail takes place on the YHCT Ride and Stride Day 14 September 2024. This launch event starts 8.30am at All Saints, Hawnby and walks through picturesque countryside to Rievaulx Abbey The Gathering Walk to mark the launch of the Saint Aelred's Pilgrim Trail is a stunning 12 mile walk through the scenic hills and dales of the North York Moors, visiting the beautiful, historic, rural churches along the route. It starts at All Saints Church, Hawnby at 8.30am, picking up more walkers at the churches in the villages of Old Byland (for a coffee, cake and water stop), moves on to Saint Mary's, Scawton, then Cold Kirby (for packed lunch in the Village Hall).
