Heritage Open Day: Known as 'Scarborough's Hidden Pre-Raphaelite Gem' The church is decorated with stained glass and artwork by Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. It is an example of a Tractarian Church in Evangelical Yorkshire. Visitors to the church are free to explore the Pre-Raphaelite stained glass and decorations, and information cards throughout the building add details about the artists who designed them. There is a free guided tour every Tuesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. that lasts approximately an hour. You are welcome to join or leave the tour at any time.
'Each window, like the elements of the church’s painted decorations, demands detailed individual appraisal, like a visit to an art gallery. St. Martin’s is the first church of the Gothic revival where this is the case.
