St Paul's Church, Wordsworth Avenue, Sheffield
Heritage Open Day: Designed by Basil Spence, St Paul's Wordsworth Avenue was built in 1956. Come and explore the building, hear talks about Basil Spence by members of Sheffield Modernist Society before joining us for refreshments in the Church Hall next door. St Paul's Church will be open 1000-1500 on Saturday 14th September 2024 and for 90 minutes after our morning service on Sunday 15th September. The service runs 1030-1130, with the building remaining open until 1300.
You'll be welcome to explore the whole building, seeing some of Basil Spence's designs, some of which he went on to incorporate into Coventry Cathedral.
There will be short 15-20 minute talks about the work and life of Basil Spence by members of the Sheffield Modernist Society at 1100 and 1300.
