Heritage Open Day: Have you ever walked by the church on Boothtown Road and wondered what was inside, but not had the opportunity (or felt brave enough) to step inside our 117-year-old building? Now is the opportunity to satisfy your curiosity! Come along and learn about the 174-year history of the congregation! The current church building was opened in 1907 but has been significantly altered and modernised and now offers a multi-purpose area, together with our hall. Boothtown United Methodist Church (as it was then known) owes its origin to the Reform movement of 1849/50. In 1851 a room was rented at the bottom of Ploughcroft Lane from Isaac Hartley. Prior to its adaptation, it was a Smithy and stable.
