Heritage Open Day: Welcome to the Halifax Playhouse, our Grade II listed building, owned and volunteer run by the Halifax Thespians and venue for a wide variety of performances and events. This Heritage event provides visitors the chance to see behind the scenes; discovering places where the general public would not normally go. It's a chance to see what it's like to stand on a stage; how the high tech sound and lighting equipment is used to enhance performances and understand the huge amount of work and fun that goes into putting on shows and running a vibrant theatre. Performances are from local amateur musical societies, a wide range of professional bands and shows as well as the Thespians own plays, performed in our 238-seat main auditorium and 46 seat Studio Bar. Refreshments will be available on the day along with personal tours. Your chance to speak to the team members who make this all possible.
