Wainsgate Chapel
Heritage Open Day: Historic Grade II* listed Baptist Chapel, Sunday School and burial ground. A chance to see inside the chapel, explore the extensive burial ground and to uncover some of its history by using your smartphone with our QR code trail. Volunteers will be on hand to help you explore all of the different aspects of Wainsgate's heritage, including archival recordings, images and music.
In line with the theme of Routes - Networks - Connections we willl be telling the stories of some of the people associated with Wainsgate who moved here from far afield and those who moved away and died far from their birthplace. There will also be creative writing and map making workshops (for all ages) exploring the theme of routes and pathways.
