St Michael's Church, 175 Years of History
Heritage Open Day: St Michael's Church was consecrated in 1848 and celebrated 175 years in 2023.
It is in the beautiful Calder Valley which has a main road a railway and a restored canal. Our 175 year old church will be exhibiting our parish registers and details of our graveyard with an easy way to find your relatives who may be buried here. Our Church will be open for the day and music will be provided by visiting organists. Refreshments will be available in the Parish Hall. The chancel mosaics are well worth examination and we have some interesting wood carvings and stained glass.
