Heritage Open Day: Explore the history of Huddersfield's beautiful Victorian town park through a display of old maps, postcards and photographs and an early evening guided walk. Greenhead Park is an attractive Grade II listed Victorian park which opened in 1884 and was restored to its former glory in 2011 thanks to a multi-million pound Heritage Lottery funded project. Historic features include a bandstand, Italian Gardens & fountain, conservatory, and two war memorials, all refurbished during the restoration, which also included reinstatement of the main lake and perimeter railings.
'Greenhead Park in Pictures', a display of old maps, photographs, postcards and other memorabilia in the Greenhead Park conservatory, will take you back through the fascinating story of the park.
