Britain's What's On Event Guide
A great day out in Clifford: visit Clifford Methodist Church as part of a trio of churches
Heritage Open Day: Our Connecting Clifford celebrations offer a unique opportunity to visit a trio of churches. You can also enjoy a walk around the village which must be booked (see separate entry). The small village of Clifford is listed in the Domesday Book and is outstanding for its spiritual heritage which began with the Quakers and led to the founding of three churches of different Christian traditions. Together they connect to share a fascinating history. Our Wesleyan (Methodist) Chapel was built by Joseph Diggles and registered for worship in 1855. It replaced the original Chapel (dating from 1805) which was on land where the tower of St Edward's now stands. You will receive a warm welcome in our School Room where tea and coffee will be served
