All Saints' Church, Barwick-in-Elmet
Heritage Open Day: Visit our historic Norman church with its Anglo-Saxon stones and we will tell you about its history. The late 15/early 16th century porch where penitents received absolution before entering the church. An opportunity to see the bells being rung. Going back to Norman times All Saints' Church has had several alterations. The spectacular East Window shows the saints. The Gascoigne chapel was altered by Mary Isabella Gascoigne and her husband in 1858. See the church clock with its famous red face. Re-ordering of the church took place in 2000 and 2010 but many of its ancient features still remain. Learn about the people who were commemorated on the various plaques around the church.
