Methley routes by river, rail and road
Heritage Open Day: The Methley Archive will once again share some of their extensive local collection at Rivers Meet Cafe for Heritage Open Days. Let Methley Archive show you how Methley, as a small agricultural village in the 18th century grew to be one of the largest villages in England in the 19th century. This was mainly due to the three railway stations, the Aire and Calder rivers and the new Toll road linking Methley wth some of our major cities. Whilst most of our industry has gone Methley is still the home of choice for people wanting to be close to our much newer network of motorways.
