Fearnville Stories - A People's History of Fearnville Leisure Centre
Heritage Open Day: Join us to celebrate a people's history of Fearnville Leisure Centre before it makes way for a new Wellbeing facility. Listen to recorded stories from Centre users and staff, and print your own memento to take home! Fearnville Leisure Centre opened in 1980 and is a well-loved landmark of life in East Leeds. Local people have fond memories of learning to swim here or teaching their own children, and of pool-side parties and five-a-side under the floodlights. The building will soon make way for a brand new state-of-the-art Wellbeing Centre, bringing a chapter of Gipton life to a close.
