Otley Parish Church
Heritage Open Day: Grade I listed medieval church, featuring a display of Anglian cross pieces dating from the 8th, 9th and 10th centuries. Informative guided tours, display of historical documents, rolling presentations, and self-guided tours for adults and children. Otley Parish Church has parts dating from the 11th century and is the oldest building in the town. In particular, there is a display of our Anglian cross pieces which show that Christian Worship has taken place here for at least 1,300 years. The Evangelists Cross, dating from the 8th century, has been described as 'one of the finest monuments surviving from pre-Viking Northumbria’.
