Britain's What's On Event Guide
Outwood People and Their Memorial Hall
Heritage Open Day: Fundraising began in 1948 with events and public subscriptions to build the Hall as a WW2 Memorial. We will display unique documents and images about the people who made it happen and the people and groups using it in its early days and now. The exhition which tells the story of the Memorial Hall is going to be focussed on the people who made it happen, starting with those who organised fundraising events in the difficult years just after WW2. Records not previously made public will be available to view. Early records include the cash book for the Outwood Memorial Hall Fund, the Nominal Roll of Membership and Subscription Record and details of the opening ceremony.
