History Walk and Talk: Cuckney

Adrian Gray of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust's North Notts Local Group is running an historical walk and talk around the Nottinghamshire village of Cuckney. Come along and learn about the fascinating history of the area!

About the event
THE HISTORIC VILLAGE OF CUCKNEY: HEROIC KINGS AND SATANIC MILLS

We are excited to be visiting Cuckney for our September history walk and talk events – hear about an important and tragic battle, the despoiling of Sherwood by ironmasters and how Cuckney was shaped by the cotton industry and child labour. A ‘lost’ castle, a beautiful pond, millworkers’ homes and probably the most unusual primary school in Nottinghamshire!

Duration approximately 3 hours, walking distance approximately 2 miles if going on the full circuit.
We hope the village hall will be available for toilets.

This walk requires booking a reservation to join.
Reserve by email or by phone to include your contact details. Once confirmed you can also pay by internet. We cannot hold a place for you if you have not paid by one week before the walk.

Weather
If constant very heavy rain (rather than light drizzle) is forecast the night before, then we may contact you to re-arrange the walk.
