Chingford funeral home hosts fundraiser for cancer charity
Co-op Funeralcare Chingford is inviting the community to enjoy a brew and chat in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The funeral home, on Station Road, is inviting people in the local area to join them on Friday 20 September from 9am–4pm for a traditional afternoon tea – complete with coffee, tea, and cakes specially made by Tara Mazzoni, Funeral Arranger, and Stephanie, Funeral Director.
Attendees will also be able to buy soap bars and candles made by Funeral Arranger, Faryn Sloane.
The event was designed to create a warm, supportive environment for local people to speak openly about their experiences with cancer. It is also an opportunity for those in the community to meet new people.
Back in August, the home held a popular coffee morning, raising £110 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Faryn Sloane, Funeral Arranger at Co-op Funeralcare Highams Park, said: “Following the success of our previous coffee morning, we were keen to continue to support a charity that is particularly close to many hearts here at Co-op Funeralcare Chingford.
“Every 90 seconds someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer*, showing how many people this devastating illness affects. We also know just how much of an impact it can have on loved ones, which is why we wanted to create a warm environment for people to meet and talk about their experiences.
“As a member-owned business, Co-op Funeralcare is always keen to show the local community that they can reach out to us for support. We hope that by hosting events like this, we’re able to let even more people know that our doors are always open.”
