About this Event
Transmission at Gallery Lock In (Dreamy Place Festival 2024)
A meeting of cities, a meeting of minds and an opportunity for transformation, Gallery Lock In has been regenerated into an audio-visual portal by Libyan artist Tewa Barnosa for this year’s Dreamy Place Festival.
Based between troubled Tripoli and a-political Amsterdam, Barnosa’s first UK solo exhibition will harness the power of AI to take audiences on a journey through the meaning of language from translation to misinformation, shared heritage and the constructed political situations that drive us apart.
This is part of an ongoing project exploring the collaborative processes between international artists and curators working to discover what we can achieve when we are not sharing the same physical space. Without travel and with low environmental impact, we will use ideas to build bridges between us.
