Women for sale: Private matter or public crisis?
Subtitled, ‘Selling our bodies. At what cost?’, this event will be taking a critical look at pornography, prostitution, and surrogacy. Speakers will include women with lived experience of the sex and surrogacy industries and other experts, including Reem Alsalem, UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls. There will be interactive workshops on a range of related themes and opportunities to discuss solutions and how to be part of a movement for change.
Workshops and panel sessions include: Raising kids in a pornified world; What’s wrong with surrogacy? The sex industry: A conducive context for male violence? Supporting women with experience of the sex industry; Navigating our porn-soaked world in relationships and beyond; Porn detox; A Small Collection of Innocuous Objects.
Times: 10am - 4.30pm
Tickets are on a sliding scale £5-£40.
