Britain's What's On Event Guide
Halloween Willow Crafts at Attenborough Nature Reserve
Come along to our crafty Halloween workshop during October half term to magic up your own spooky willow creations!
About the event
Get creative with our Halloween-themed willow workshops during October half term! The course is suitable for children of all ages. You will have the opportunity to create all things witchy and wonderful out of willow, including woven wands and spooky spiders! You will be supported through the step-by-step process in a small group setting. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult.
The workshop is based in the community room, with beautiful views across the water. The workshop includes a lunch box and activity pack for children, plus a coffee and cake for accompanying adults. The lunch box includes a kids sandwich, biscuit pack, fruit, yoghurt and drink carton or kids hot drink. Our cakes and sweet treats are supplied by two independent, local businesses – Beeston Brownies and Homemade Café. With at least 48-hours' notice, we can cater for most dietary and allergy needs. Please contact us if you have any questions or to inform us of any specific requirements/requests.
Katrine Scott-Mitchell from The Willow Loft is a local maker who works with willow to create sculptures, decorative and practical items for the home and garden. Katrine has been working with willow for six years and regularly runs workshops to share her love of ‘twisting sticks’! The biggest sculpture she has made is a life-sized stag and the most practical item is a basket that she uses every day to carry her tools.
